Who we are
NogBoom is run by Peak Software (Pty) Ltd (registration 2020/848211/07), South Africa. We are the responsible party under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

What we collect
Browsing this site: nothing that says who you are. Our web server keeps standard logs (IP address, page, time) for security, for up to 30 days.
Forms: the forms on this site open your own email app with a message to hello@nogboom.com. Nothing is sent to us until you press send. If you do, we receive what you wrote: usually your name, phone number, town and what you asked about.
Directory listings: if you ask to be listed, we keep your business name, category, town and contact details, and show the business details on the site.
Why we use it
To answer you, to tell you when tree orders open if you asked about a tree, and to publish a listing you asked for. We do not sell your information, and we do not send marketing you did not ask for.
Cookies and Google Analytics
We count visits with Google Analytics 4, only if you say yes in the cookie bar. Until then no analytics cookies are set.
Google Analytics runs on Google's servers, mostly outside South Africa, under Google's data processing terms. Google keeps visit data for 14 months.
Change your mind any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of any page. We keep your choice in your own browser.
Who else sees it
Emails you send us are kept in our mailbox, run by our email provider, which may store them outside South Africa under terms that protect your information to a standard comparable to POPIA, as section 72 requires.
A listed business's details are public on the directory, because that is the point of a listing.
How long we keep it
Enquiries: for as long as we are helping you, and up to a year after, then deleted.
Listings: while the listing is live. Ask us to remove it and we do, within 30 days.
Your rights
You may ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and object to us using it. Email hello@nogboom.com. We answer within 30 days.
You may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa: https://inforegulator.org.za.

If this changes in a way that matters, we update the date above.
